4th Gen Maruti Swift has been launched in India with a fresh design, improved tech, and an all-new motor which the company says offers higher fuel efficiency. THE LOOKING GLASS The Jazz keeps its distinctive hatchback profile but features a new grille, LED projector headlamps and garnished, C-shaped tail lamps that inject a sense of sportiness to the design.
The cabin feels more upscale on the inside as well, with layered dashboards and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, both of which are improved from the Cruze, plus wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The rear AC vents and wireless charger adds comfort and convenience for daily drives.
Performance Meets Efficiency
Powering the Swift now, is a 1.2-litre Z-Series three-pot petrol engine which puts out 82 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. Other than being a bit less powerful than the original, it provides a flatter low-end and a bit more mid-range oomph.
It is coupled to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox with city-centric tuning of course. Claimed fuel efficiency is 24.8 km/l for the manual and 25.75 km/l for the AMT, thus making it one of the most fuel efficient hatchbacks in India.
Safety and Comfort Upgrades
Maruti has offered six airbags as standard features on all versions, including a hill-hold, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control. These extras really go a long way to enhance the Swift’s safety credentials, particularly among city families.
The seats are new for enhanced support and the suspension has been retuned for a more confident feel. Despite its size the Swift still has room to seat four adults and has a useful boot.
Pricing and Variants
The latest version of the Swift launched in five primary variants – LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi+ – with prices ranging between ₹6.49 lakh and ₹9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). Dual-tone is offered for ₹15,000 more, allowing a bit of personal touch.
On-road prices in Varanasi and other places might change slightly because of local taxes, however the Swift continues to be attractively priced vis-à-vis rivals such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Tiago.
Conclusion
The Maruti Swift 2025 has done a fine job mixing and matching those genes and gave birth to a car does not look too old school not too modern. With enhanced safety, more tech and better gas mileage, it’s an appealing choice for younger drivers and small families. Maruti hasn’t built a new wheel, it’s just been chiseled to be sharper, safer, and sexier.
